Balls Out...Every Sunday.

{casually cute for church}

It seems like bowling has turned into a Sunday ritual for us lately, it's like the kids expect we're gonna do church, eat lunch and head to the alley...thankfully it's cheap.

On Sunday morning I slipped in the shower and jacked my back up pretty good, I could barely breathe without pain so I knew that I would only be a spectator that afternoon which really bummed me.  After church we stopped home for sandwiches and then made our way three blocks to the bowling alley.

{he insisted the green shirt was too fancy}

Ryan started off like a tornado, knocking down pins left and right.  He was totally blowing his older brother out of the water...and liking it.

{at least he's all one color ~ that's all I can say}

In the third frame Ryan got a strike and to hear him talk smack to his twelve year old brother was hilarious, he was over the top excited like I've never seen him.

{Ryan 101 ~ David 80}

{yup, I'm all that and a bag of chips}

Jon and Haylee kept themselves entertained with games and snacks, they look like two peas in a pod sometimes, I can't wait until summer gets here and we can get back outside!

{mom and the future celeb}

Ryan sure did learn his lesson by talking trash in that first game because David whopped his hiney in the next two.

{both good sports thankfully}

The kids were up early Sunday so by about two thirty they were exhausted...one in particular was having a complete meltdown.

David had given me a list of ingredients to get at the grocery store the night before, so while the rest of us lay down for a two hour nap he whipped up dough, cut up toppings and just as we woke he was ready to throw it all in the oven!  And he took pictures along the way...

{rose the dough while we were bowling}

{secret brush on stuff   ~ smelled like orange juice to me}

{stuffed crust}

{the toppings he likes}

He doesn't like pizza sauce so the first one was sans sauce so I asked him to make a second pizza for the kids, he of course like throwing that dough around.

When it's single digits and snowing for weeks on end, it makes it hard to come up with different things to do indoors.  I've been really digging our new Sunday afternoon routine, I just hope the kids get enough of it because in a few months we won't want to step foot indoor anywhere and chance missing the sunshine!

Is David taller than Jon now?

You slipped in the shower?
Oh! ow! ow! ow!ow! ow!
I know exactly how your back feels and you have my full sympathy.

Great looking pizzas, although I've never been a fan of stuffed crust. That's just too much cheese for me. I had to give up making my own dough, my shoulders can't take the necessary kneading anymore.

I might kidnap David to cook dinner for me.

My kids aren't really into bowling but I'm hoping in a few years they will be because I like bowling. Even if I suck.
