(On the deck over looking the harbor}
This week has been very out of the ordinary for me as far as work goes. On Monday and Tuesday I attended a training seminar with members of our team from around the world which was an awesome learning experience but we sat in a chair from eight until five... breakfast brought in, lunch brought in and dinner with drinks on the lake shore.
On Tuesday we did more of the sitting and more of the eating, my first lunch at a real hibachi grill where the guy makes everything right in front of you. Not my fave...the salad with orange ginger dressing? Ew. The broth soup with NOTHING in it? Yick. The pile of candied carrots next to my rice and chicken? Weird.
As if I hadn't sat around stuffing my face enough, tonight our new owners came to town and I was invited to attend dinner at a fancy schmancy steak house. I'm talking the kind of restaurant with two different wine glasses, three different forks and forty dollar steaks (side dishes cost extra). My co-worker/friend Lisa and I took cell phone pics of each other before anyone arrived...because weez classy like that.
{my what a big wine glass you have}
While I was out on my three day food bender, Jon took the kids to a baseball game. The twelve year old son of our daycare lady (and Ryan's baseball idol) got into a play off game of sorts so tonight they were playing a night game "under the lights." While I was sipping a $15 glass of wine Jon and the kids were watching Brett hit a home run, though in the end and the team lost after two extra innings.
{Mesmerized until nearly ten o'clock}
I picked up Haylee on my way home because she was already overdue for bed but Ryan wouldn't hear of it. I'm so glad Ryan has baseball lovers like Brett to look up to, hopefully they win this weekend and keep moving on! Moving...I need to be doing more of it since this week's meals are literally going to be hanging off my hips like side car satchels.
And now I'm going totally random on you.
{Pardon My Dust}
On my way home tonight I was checking to see how many more miles I could drive before stalling out and I noticed I had just rolled over 100,000 miles! Time to trade in the old station wagon or just keep on a truckin'?
