Weighting. Watching.

 {My Senior Picture ~ 1995}

I can vividly remember sharing clothes with my sister in high school for about ten minutes.  She was always thinner than I and during my junior year I wore her red Zena jeans to school...size ten and button fly.  I wore them with my friend's long sleeved white hooded t-shirt and my sister's brown Eastland boots. I got it right up here, clear as day.

The following year I began waiting tables at a restaurant and within no time - you guessed it!  I started packing on the pounds because I was eating like that was my job.  My clothes were busting at the seams and my sister was walking around in a bikini with a perfect body and perfect hair.  I suddenly had a fat roll, big bangs and glasses...

{my sister with her great hair and brown bottled...pop}

Fast forwarding a few years, my sister began to slowly put on her own weight and all the feelings of jealousy that I once had began to fade.  I just wished she would return to perfect because I knew what fat felt like and never wanted her to feel the way I did.

Today we're back at the same place we were when I put on those red Zena jeans, we are almost exactly the same in every way.  We both had babies in 2009 just four days apart and since that time we've been...well let's be frank.  Overweight.

{38 weeks pregnant for Layne and Haylee}

Since September I have really been trying to lose weight on my own by counting calories and going to the gym and yes I have lost fifteen pounds but I'm continually falling off the wagon every few weeks.  So last week when my mom said she joined Weight Watchers and I had already been hearing good things about it from some friends at work, I found out that my sister joined too.  And as of yesterday...me.

We know it's in the genes.  We know we need to do something.  I am hoping that with the help of my family we can start to make some real changes.  The buddy system really worked out yesterday when my sister e-mailed to say she used twelve points for breakfast and I shared with her some ideas for a five point breakfast that worked for me.  Those little tips and tricks are what we need so we don't feel like we're stranded alone on an island.

{BEFORE ~ Christmas 2011}

I found a cute saying on Pinterest that goes "If you eat how you have always eaten, you will look how you've always looked."

Let this be the last fat photo for the three of us.

I'm wishing you lots of good luck. I need to lose twenty pounds (I'll settle for thirty...ha ha), yet I'm sitting here snacking on French Twists, tiny snack sized layers of crispy sweet pastry. I'm such a bad girl. I bought them so I could take photos and write about them, now I feel I have to eat them so they're not wasted. At least I know I won't be buying them again, no matter how nice they are.

I got pretty dang close to my goal weight using Weight Watchers 2 years ago and after trying all sorts of fad diets, WW has been the one thing that is realistic. I totally recommend it! The hardest part is transitioning into it, but once you get used to the points counting, you will see a difference! Best of luck to you, your sis and your mom! I know you gals can do it! :)

I loved Weight Watchers! Lost 30lbs, found that it was super easy. As long as you follow it and are consistent, it's great. I guess that's how it is with any diet really.

I just hated paying for it.

I'm counting calories now and that seems to work better for me. I dunno. Whatever. No matter what, I wish you tons and tons of good luck!

Broasted Vegys are the bomb! no points..... you can use any fresh vegys you want to. califlour, broc, sumer squash, fresh green beans, peppers, onions and what ever you would like.
cut then up into a 9 X 13 pan, spray I can't believe it's not butter and sprinkle with garlic pepper. Cover them with tin foil, bake on 350 for 30min then remove foil and cook till the vegy are tender or crunchy... however you like them. This is truely a life saver when you have used all your points for the day and are hungry. I'm also on weight watchers and have lost 11 pounds total. Any ideas u have are very much welcomed.
Also if your weight watcher online the zero point soup is awesome. I make it on sunday and have it anytime I want all through the week. It freezes really well.
