Never in my thirty four years have I seen a winter like this one in Michigan. Normally we would have been buried in snow since the first week in December but here it is the second week in January and we've only seen the white stuff ONCE. And as soon as it fell we bundled up and took to the back yard, though the kids stayed out less time than it took to bundle up which was irritating in itself.
Haylee got snow on her gloves and then ripped them off yelling "I'm dirty mom, my gloves are dirty!" which totally made me laugh out loud, she's such a diva and I hate to admit that I love that about her. Funny when she's two, probably not so funny when she's fifteen.
As quickly as our snow came, it left and here it is January tenth and it's still fifty degrees outside. Tonight the kids played outside while I cooked dinner which doesn't even seem possible. I asked Jon if this was some sort of global warming and he gave me this whole run down about the jet stream and how it's all going to change when a low pressure system comes in to I don't know...change the stream? God I feel stupid when people talk about jet streams.
I am crossing my fingers that we don't get hit double when the snow finally arrives because driving through regular winter storms is scary enough! I just don't understand it, but I like it.
What's going on around the world? Is everyone having a winter like we are?

I know that we've barely dipped below 70 degrees here in the south we had a few nights where it was low (in the 20s) but then the next morning it would be back up at 70. I wish we would get some snow.
Ditto here in northern Il. 50-some degrees the other day and I raked leaves and was sweating.
Down here in Aus. we have what you'd call mild winters all the time. Although they certainly feel cold enough to us after our summer heat. We occasionally get temps as low as 3C which is 32.5 in your language, but no snow. Tasmania gets snow, but not as much as you normally would and some areas of Victoria do too. I say enjoy the warm while it lasts.
We are so with you! Being in NY, we usually have plenty of it by now, kids want to ski, quad, sled etc..but nothing 8( Wish I had answers! My husband actually said to me in bed last night "Ya know, I saw a webside that we can buy our own personal snow machine and make it ourselves" I laughed out loud and he said he was serious! lol
Here we are having a colder then normal summer although if it ever snowed here I think I would fait as it never gets that cold......lol
The kids do look like they are having fun......
