Follow the Yellow Brick Road.

When I worked for the company previous to the one I do now, we used a law firm who gave the Human Resource and management teams free tickets to the theater every year.  Since leaving the company nearly four years ago however, they are still sending me free tickets?  Score.

This year's musical was Wizard of Oz and I'm a huge fan so I was excited...maybe more so than the kids were.  Thankfully Jon's mom agreed to watch Haylee because I'm sure she would have wanted to go home within the first five minutes, so after church we drove by their house and opened up the van door.  Tuck and roll baby.

Yes David's dress shirt is a size 16/18 when he normally wears a 12/14 but it was $1.99 and beggars can't be choosers.  And yes Ryan's shoes clapped on the floor like clown shoes because they are one size too big but again...ya get what ya get, right?

We had the best seats in the house, front row of the balcony section.  No big heads in front of us to look around or get irritated when Ryan continually kicked the back of their seat.  And I thought it was super cool they had booster seats for the kids, I had never seen those before!  Not so awesome that David is eleven and insisted on getting one too, his father nearly died.

I tried to take a picture with Jon with no help from my little photo bomber...he was so excited for the show to start and I was thankful that he sat still for the entire performance.  He was just as captivated as I was for two hours!  (We did get fifteen minutes to recharge on punch and cookies mid-way through)

I know you are not supposed to take photos and the signs say "DO NOT TAKE PHOTOS" and they told us over the loudspeaker that we could not take photos....but I couldn't help myself!  The sets and costumes were so beautiful and I was just so happy and I'M A BLOGGER FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

I did not use flash so they aren't very clear but, you get the jist.

Afterward they hold a reception for everyone and serve appetizers and little desserts.  I wanted to leave because really who wants to fight a crowd of 500 people for some mini hot dogs...JON.  His ass wouldn't pass up free food for anything and Ryan was itching for another dessert too, so...

It was a nice day out and all it cost us was parking.  It's getting to be that time of year where the calendar is filling up and something is going on every weekend.  I might say that I don't like to have my every minute planned out for me, but I do.  When the little ones are at home all day, they do is fight like cats and dogs so anything outside these four walls is where I want to be during these cold winter months.

I'm glad you guys had a good time! And yay for rocking the bargains! Because I can't justify paying full price for kid dress stuff... yikes.

Everyone looks so nice when they get all dressed up (whether it fits correctly or not). Glad you had such a great time. Happy Christmas Season!!!

I think your sneaked photos came out really well, a flash probably wouldn't have made much difference at all.
@Jon, I wouldn't pass up free mini hotdogs either.
