I'm pretty sure I cried through the entire service at church this past weekend...nobody even asks why anymore because they just know it's something I gotta do right now.
I have read of other bloggers writing about their churches doing a cardboard testimony, though I had never experienced it myself. Our pastor explained that you basically share your story with the congregation by writing down a burden you carry/have carried on the front side of your sign and then how your faith has changed that on the opposite. I found a good example on YouTube:
I think I lost my cool on Sunday when a girl who looked to be 25ish years old walked across the stage holding her sign that said "Lost My Mother to Breast Cancer" and then flipped it over to read "Received an Outpouring of Love from Friends and Family". It was like taking a look into somebody's life after you've seen their face every weekend, but really knowing nothing about them.
A couple came up and the woman was sobbing and their cardboard sign said "Infertile for 19 Years" and then she flipped it over to reveal "A Son"...I could go on and on. Couples who were facing divorce, people who had been looking for a mate for years, people who were lost but have been found.
Even though I had tears rolling down my face, I wanted to make a cardboard sign. I knew from the minute they told us about the exercise what I would write...but I was too afraid to walk across the stage in front of all those people. So I will share my cardboard testimonial with you:

This was very touching Jennifer. Thank you for sharing. This is the first I've heard of the Cardboard Testimony.
I have never heard of this but it is a wonderful thing! Mine would be - I want my children to be in Heaven with me. Other side....my son has a brain tumor and I am thankful because it brought him right to God.
I've never heard of a Cardboard Testimony. I have no idea what I waould write on one.
We did this at our church too! Love your post! I need to think what mine would be....
